The Salida Senior Citizens Center has become a very needed asset for the citizens, groups and non profits of Chaffee County. The Center has been providing hot meals for Seniors along with a place for them to meet and interact with other Seniors . The Seniors also meet  for activities such as hiking, dancing, exercises and bingo . The Center started administering the TEFAP (the Emergency Food Assistance Program) and the CSFP (the Commodity Supplemental Food Program through Care and Share out of Colorado Springs Co. The CSFP program started with 28 participants in June of 2014 and has now grown to over 140 participants. The TEFAP program helps provide food to over 150 households and over 225 people.  The  Colorado Central Humanists provide toiletries and other items to people that participate in the food programs. The TEFAP and CSFP program is delivered to the center onthe first Wednesday and handed out the following Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m. 

 

SALIDA ROTARY MEETS HERE EVERY MONDAY AT NOON.

SBA MEETS THE FIRST AND THIRD THURSDAYS AT 8:00 a.m.
